FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions:

Do I stop eating during the cleanse?

The cleanse is NOT a fast, which means we will use whole, healthy foods to cleanse the body of impurities, while being able to maintain our normal daily activities and workload. You may feel tired at times and need to adjust your normal routine, but this should viewed as an invitation to re-evaluate how you spend your time and whether or not your current routine is working for you on all levels.

My family and I eat together, how will the cleanse affect family mealtimes?

You and your family can continue to eat normally; you can still join them at mealtimes, as well as eating at restaurants if required. Again, adjustments may need to be made to how you would normally approach meals times, the key is being prepared.

What are some of the foods that I will be cutting out of my diet during the cleanse?

Animal products, refined sugars, refined grains, caffeine, most dairy, and alcohol. You will be shifting your diet to one that is based on whole foods, such as brown rice, fruits and vegetables. The 21-Day Cleanse moves through 3 different stages with varying percentages of proteins, whole grains, fruits, and vegetables.

I’m afraid of being hungry, not getting enough food or protein, and/or going without caffeine?

Cleansing is not only about eliminating from our bodies the excesses that we have accumulated over time, it also about letting go of habits that we have outgrown, and beliefs that no longer serve our best interests. It is important to acknowledge this deep level of cleansing that you are embarking on, especially when fears begin to arise before the process has begun.

In general, the things we fear living without the most during our cleanse are often the very things we need to get rid of the most. That said, as long as you are willing to be prepared by shopping and cooking for yourself, you should never feel hungry during your cleanse.

You may also choose to drink one cup of organic green tea daily if you really feel you are not ready to release caffeine from your diet.

As for protein, past participants have found that when they were ready to challenge their long held beliefs about what they thought they needed, versus what actually nourishes them, not one of them actually needed the amount of protein that they had become accustomed to eating. Remember, this is about learning what truly nourishes you on all levels. Being clear on why you are choosing to cleanse is key.
