About Cleansing

Cleansing gives us a chance to observe closely what our habitual patterns of consumption actually are, to transform patterns of consumption into patterns of nourishment, and to experience how we feel when we nourish ourselves with food, rather than just consuming food.

What to expect – While cleansing we will look at the foods that we over consume the most, and work to eliminate them from our diet, while increasing beneficial whole foods to replace them. The most difficult part of any cleanse is when the body is in a cleansing reaction, generally this lasts from 3-7 days, depending on the length of the cleanse.

Symptoms you may experience as cleansing reactions include: feeling tired, irritable, sluggish, stiffness, nausea and headaches.

The benefit of doing shorter cleanses, more frequently to begin with, is that you have a chance to practice eliminating the foods that you over consume the most, and therefore, have a better chance of successfully completing our full 21 day mindfulness cleanse.

Once the initial cleansing reactions have passed, you are likely to experience the following: increased and sustained energy levels, increased vitality, mental and emotional clarity, optimism, improved sleep, increased agility and ease of movement in our bodies.

Many of our mental, emotional and physical states that improve during the cleanse, are in fact, our natural state of being, which is merely dulled from over-eating processed foods. This feeling of energy and optimism is how we are meant to feel – all the time! Having experienced this renewed vitality once, we successfully establish a physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual blueprint for wellness. We now know we can return to this state of wellness at will, just by choosing to eat the foods that truly nourish us, rather than consuming.
